6TH RACETRACK HAS NOT BEEN APPROVED
THE NMRC MET TODAY IN SPECIAL SESSION AND ON ADVICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO APPROVE THE LICENSE APPLICATION FOR A 6TH RACETRACK FOR NEW MEXICO. THE NMRC WILL RECOMMEND TO THE NEWLY ELECTED GOVERNOR TO PROCEED WITH APPROVAL AFTER THE GOVERNOR ELECT TAKES OFFICE. THE PROCESS FOR A 6TH RACETRACK IS NOT CONCLUDED AND ESSENTIALLY HAS BEEN PLACED ON HOLD. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL.

THE NMRC TOOK NO ACTION TO APPROVE THE 6TH RACETRACK LICENSE DURING ITS 12/21/18. THE NMRC MET IN EXECUTIVE SESSION FOR ABOUT 3 HOURS AND CAME TO NO CONCLUSION TO EITHER APPROVE OR REJECT WHAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A 6TH RACETRACK IN NEW MEXICO.A BIG SHOUTOUT TO REY MARQUEZ A LONGTIME HORSEMEN. Greetings and Happy Holidays. The NMRC has called a special meeting for this Friday, December 21, 2018. The meeting will start at 9:00 AM and will cover the following topics: Threatened or Pending Litigation which will be dealt with in executive session and the 6th Racetrack License. The NMHA is seeking information to determine the feasibility of supplementing the purchase of Worker's Compensation Insurance by Trainers and Owners who are required under New Mexico law to have it.
