CYBER MONDAY LEADS THE WAY IN SECOND DAY OF SCHOOLING WORKS
RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM – May 7, 2020 – With a red-flag warning in effect due to high winds, Cyber Monday, a colt trained by Sergio Ibarra and ridden by Sergio Becarra, Jr., ran away with the fastest time on the second day of schooling works at Ruidoso Downs Race Track. Cyber Monday, who ran the 250 yards in :13.783, was sired by Favorite Cartel and was purchased at the Ruidoso Yearling Select Sale last year for $140,000 by a group out of El Paso led by Abelardo Gallegos.
“He has been the best horse in my barn so far, and he proved he could run today,” said Ibarra. “We have high hopes for him.”
The second-fastest time of the day went to Tuckk, a sorrel colt trained by Mike Joiner and owned by Bobby Simmons. Ridden by Noe Garcia, Jr., Tuckk recorded a time of :13.852. Veteran trainer Joiner recorded eight wins out of the 21 heats that ran today against stiff headwinds.
